Getting Through Single Awareness Month on Socials

For the month of February, Netflix and YouTube took over my computer screen and Twitter took over my phone. Last month, I really enjoyed Instagram but I wasn’t on it as much during February. I feel this is because of Valentine’s day. I try to stay as far away from Instagram as possible on holidays because many people post the same content. Some people also do not understand what should be kept private and what should be made public.

Netflix premiered Dating Around on Valentine’s Day, so I spent a couple of days focused on that show. The Umbrella Academy also began this month. No one can take me away from this show. Each episode is an hour long which means 10 hours of meaningless binge watching for me! Also, if you haven’t seen The Assassination of Gianni Versace, I would highly recommend it. Netflix is so much better to watch when you’re not the one paying for the account. It’s as if all of the shows become enhanced because of that fact. I pay for a student package with Hulu Spotify and Showtime. I don’t even watch Hulu nor can I name a single show any on Showtime for that matter.

Whenever I get bored with my Netflix binge watching habits, I like to divert my attention over to YouTube. New videos are posted every minute so there is always something to watch on there. It’s hard not to get lost on YouTube because the suggested videos go on and on. In a day I could sit and watch at least 5 hours of content on this platform. This could be in the form of watching hour long videos or just surfing through all of the 5 minute suggested videos. There’s a video for everyone, you just have to find what you like.

I start my day on Twitter and end my day on Twitter. It is hands down the funniest platform that exists right now in my opinion. It is meme-central and has all of the latest news. Now, I’m not saying I get all my news from Twitter, but it does keep me up-to-date with what’s going on in the world around us. I could spend hours on Twitter. I see it as a cycle, refresh Twitter then Netflix then YouTube. Even good ol’ Donnie is on Twitter. If the president can spend all day on the app, I should be able to as well.
